DODGEBALL RULES

Balls start in middle.  Both teams start at their back walls.  You have to stay on your side of the court at all times.

When whistle blown run and get balls but have to go back and touch wall before can be thrown.

Throw balls at opposition.  If opposition players body is hit by a ball, they are out. This only counts with a direct hit, not off the floor or walls.

If you are out you sit down outside the court.

You can block the ball using another ball.

If you catch a ball you are not out but the person who threw the ball is out.

A caught ball also means that a team member of the catcher who was previously out, can come back into play again.

When one team only has one member left in play, if that player catches a thrown ball, then their whole team can come back into play.

Game continues until one team is all out of play and the winning team still has members left!

Unihoc Rules

Game: the game is played with plastic sticks, with a plastic, very light ball, little bit larger than a tennis ball, at an indoor pitch. Players don’t use any other equipment. There are two goals that are smaller than in ice-hockey.

Teams: the playing members of a team on a pitch consist of five players.

No goalkeepers exist.

Face-Off: at the beginning of each half, as well as after each goal. The team which has lost a goal passes the ball backwards. The ball is in the game as soon as it leaves the stick of the passing player.

Before face-off, all players must be on their own sides of the mid-line, and only the passing player is allowed inside the circle at the centre of that line. At the beginning of the game, one team will have possession; the other gets possession at the beginning of the second half.

Out-of-Bounds: there is no out-of-bounds unless the ball rolls somewhere completely

inaccessible. Just continue to play! :-)

Penalties: Try to be kind, and there will be no penalties…

If an attacker enters the area to attempt to score it will simply be goalies ball or advantage played. If a goalie handles outside the area the result is a penalty.

The goalkeeper

The goalie can only roll out or pass out along the ground.

Passbacks

Passbacks during normal play are allowed, however:

If a goalkeeper is in possession and passes to a defender who then passes back to the keeper immediately, this is seen as time wasting and possession will switch to the other team in the form of an indirect free kick from the edge.

You may shoot from kick off.

When a ball goes out of play you re-start play with a roll in or kick in (both cannot go above waist level).

When taking corners again a roll or kick in is fine.

Overhead height in normal play is allowed, only the goalkeeper cannot go this high.

Subs

During the game the team can roll their substitutes. All players that are part of the team that are not playing on the pitch (substitutes) will have to wait on the side of the pitch and if a substitution is called the substituted player must step off the pitch and the new player on the pitch.
